My name is Gregory Tiwald, and I am the new owner of the circus school at The Extreme Hotel in Cabarete. Today we are wishing farewell to our friend and Yoga instructor, Sophia, and welcoming our new instructor Kate! In order to send Sophia off right we are celebrating with a full day of amazing activities including painting a mandala on the Yoga Loft’s wall. People buzzed about our different activities – fitness with Zach and Jeremy at Zendo Fitness, learning circus with me, and painting the wall of the Yoga Loft with Sophia and Kate throughout the day.
The space is cleaned and ready for today’s event!
It was quite the busy day and we had the chance to do some outreach with the locals, sharing our craft with them. The energy here in Cabarete is so warm and welcoming that it matches the warm Caribbean sun. The interest in the circus arts is just beginning to bud here, and I’m certain that Cabarete will become one of the most inclusive and highest level destinations for circus the world over.
What’s all this circus business?
The circus is a collection of amazing arts, and now YOU can learn it as well. From juggling and hand balancing, to aerials and flying trapeze, the circus has something for everyone. We have classes running every day so you never have to go a moment without doing something amazing. Currently we are starting with three classes a day, but as the school grows that may change.
Our Corde Lisse (Rope) class runs everyday at 10AM.
Silks (Fabric) is at 12PM.
Lyra (Aerial Hoop) happens at 2PM.
Private sessions are also available, if you want to really hone your craft. Each class is $40 for a two hour session, and privates start at $60 for a two hour session.
Be sure to bring your friends, and remember that circus is always more fun when shared!
Keep an eye here for news, tips, and tricks as we grow, and I’ll see you in the air ♀️
